Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my experience with the Wyze thermostat. I installed it today and was a bit puzzled when I set up the ‘heater fuel source’ to GAS since I have a gas heater. However, no heat was coming out during the testing, though the cold air worked fine. I decided to reset it and, as a test, clicked ‘ELECTRIC’ as the fuel source, and voilà, it started working perfectly. I’m a bit concerned though—am I potentially damaging my heater by sending the wrong signal? The original Honeywell thermostat had a simple setup with C, R, Y, G, W wires, and the switch was on ‘gas/oil’. I’m certain I have a gas furnace, as I can see the gas lines and the safety warnings. Has anyone else encountered a similar situation or have any insights? I’d really appreciate any advice to ensure everything is running safely and efficiently.
