Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the WyzeCam V3 and a peculiar issue I encountered. I’ve been using this camera for a while now, and it’s been working perfectly except for one specific scenario. I hope someone else has encountered this and might have some insights or solutions!
So, the issue arises when my WiFi network is set to channel 12 or 13, which I’ve heard are less crowded and better for video streaming. However, if I also set the SSID to hidden, the WyzeCam V3 refuses to connect. I’ve tested this across multiple routers from different manufacturers to rule out any hardware-specific issues. Unfortunately, the problem persists across all the V3 cameras I’ve tried, both on older and the latest firmware versions.
Interestingly, the V2 version of this camera doesn’t have this issue. It connects just fine regardless of whether the SSID is hidden or not. This has left me a bit puzzled—why the discrepancy between the V2 and V3 models? I’m wondering if this is a known firmware bug or if there’s a workaround I’m missing.
I’ve reached out to Wyze support, but so far, I haven’t received any helpful information. If anyone else has experienced this or has any suggestions, I’d be really grateful! In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting with different router settings and firmware updates to see if anything changes.
