Xiaomi Button Delay and Potential Solutions

I recently set up my Xiaomi Gateway along with a Mijia Wireless Switch, and I’ve been experimenting with using the button to adjust the brightness of my bedside lamp. While the functionality itself works, I’ve noticed a slight delay—about a second—between pressing the button and the light responding. This minor inconvenience is something I can live with, but there’s another issue that’s a bit more frustrating.

It seems like the button or gateway might be entering a sleep mode. The first press after a period of inactivity often takes several seconds to register, which is just long enough to make you think it hasn’t worked and press it again. This behavior is particularly annoying and could potentially lead to double presses or other unintended actions.

I’ve been researching this issue and wondering if others who use Xiaomi devices have encountered similar delays. Is there a way to keep the gateway and button active without constantly pressing the button? Maybe sending a heartbeat signal or adjusting some settings could help. I’d love to hear from anyone who has experienced this and found a workaround or solution.

In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out if there’s a setting within the Xiaomi app or gateway configuration that could address this. If not, perhaps there’s a third-party tool or tweak that could help. I’m also considering whether this is a known issue with a pending software update. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!
