Xiaomi Gateway Firmware Update Experience

Hey everyone, I’ve been using my Xiaomi Gateways for over two years now, and they’ve been working like a charm with my OpenHab setup. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking when a new firmware update comes out, especially after hearing some horror stories about gateway issues. Today, I spotted a new firmware version, 1.4.1_176.0220, waiting to be installed, and I decided to take the plunge. After some research and a bit of hesitation, I went ahead and updated one of my gateways. The process was smooth, and I kept my fingers crossed during the reboot phase. To my relief, everything worked perfectly afterward! My devices are still communicating flawlessly, and I even noticed a few minor improvements in performance. For anyone else considering this update, I’d recommend starting with one gateway if you have multiple, just to be safe. Make sure to back up your current configuration before updating, and keep an eye on your devices for the first day or two. If you’re on the fence, checking the community forums for recent experiences can also be really helpful. It’s always a bit of a gamble with firmware updates, but in this case, it turned out to be a positive experience. I’m feeling more confident now about keeping my gateways up to date in the future. Thanks to everyone in the community who shares their experiences—it really helps us all make informed decisions! Any other gateway update stories out there? I’d love to hear how it went for you!
