Hi everyone, I recently had an experience with my Yale Connexis L1 smart lock that I’d like to share. It’s a great device, but I ran into a small hiccup after changing the batteries, and I thought I’d walk through it to help others avoid the same issue. So, a couple of months ago, I noticed my Yale L1 was showing low battery. I decided it was time to swap them out. I did a quick battery change, thinking it was a straightforward process—just pop them out and in. But after swapping, I noticed the lock wasn’t showing up in my SmartThings app anymore. It was frustrating because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of moving my hub just to reconnect it.I started researching and found that sometimes, after a battery change, the lock might need to be reconnected to the hub. I wasn’t too keen on moving my hub, but I decided to give it a try. I followed the steps to move the hub closer to the door, and to my relief, the lock reconnected without any issues. It was a bit of a hassle, but at least it worked. To avoid this in the future, I’ve started keeping spare batteries on hand and checking the battery levels regularly. I also make sure to test the lock after each battery change to ensure it’s still connected. It’s a small thing, but it saves a lot of time and frustration. If anyone else has had similar issues, I’d love to hear how you resolved them. Maybe there’s a quicker fix I’m missing. It’s all part of the learning curve with smart home devices, right?Overall, I’m still impressed with the Yale L1. It’s reliable, and the integration with SmartThings is seamless once everything is set up. I just need to remember to keep an eye on those batteries!
