Hey everyone, I’m reaching out to share a challenge I’ve been tackling with my Z-Wave devices and hopefully get some insights or tips from the community. I’ve been experimenting with associating two Z-Wave switches (FGS211 and FGS223) to create a hotel-style connection. The goal is to have switch S2 from FGS211 and switch E2 from FGS223 work together to control a single light load connected to the FGS223. While I’ve successfully done this with Vera in the past using scenes, I’m aiming for a direct association without relying on Vera this time.
I’ve set up the associations manually, following the device instructions, but I’m hitting a snag where the devices aren’t communicating as expected. The FGS223 shows an association ID of 14, and the FGS211 has an ID of 14 as well. I suspect there might be a misconfiguration in the group IDs or perhaps a setting I’m overlooking. Has anyone successfully associated two Z-Wave switches in a similar setup? Any advice on troubleshooting or confirming if the association is properly established would be greatly appreciated!
On a positive note, I’ve had great success with Vera in the past, and I’m excited to replicate that functionality with a more direct setup. It’s been a fascinating learning experience diving into Z-Wave associations and device configurations. Looking forward to hearing from those who’ve tackled this before!
Cheers,
