I’ve been diving into the world of Z-Wave lately and have run into an interesting challenge that I thought I’d share with the community. When it comes to adding new Z-Wave nodes, especially wall-mounted devices like dimmers or switches, the process can feel a bit tricky. Most guides suggest moving the new node close to the main controller during pairing, but what do you do when the device is permanently mounted and accessing it isn’t feasible? 
I’ve heard of using really long USB extension cables to get the device close enough to the controller, but that feels a bit hacky. Plus, in my country, messing with electrical installations without a professional isn’t allowed, so I can’t just take the device apart and move it around. 
I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated wall-mounted Z-Wave devices. What strategies did you use? Did you find a workaround that doesn’t involve risky DIY electrical work? Any tips on ensuring a stable connection despite the physical limitations would be invaluable! 
Also, if anyone has experience with rolling back Z-Wave firmware versions or troubleshooting device resets, that would be a huge help too. I’ve encountered some issues with device compatibility and would appreciate any advice on safely reverting to a previous version or resolving unexpected restarts.
