Z-Wave Motion Sensor Configuration Success Story

I wanted to share my recent success in configuring my Z-Wave Aeotec ZWA005 motion, light, and temperature sensor with openHAB. It wasn’t without its challenges, but the satisfaction of getting everything working smoothly was well worth the effort.

Initially, I faced some confusion with the device not providing the expected temperature readings. The setup process involved installing the Z-Wave Serial Controller and integrating the sensor, but I kept encountering -NAN values in the Control tab. After some research and troubleshooting, I realized the issue was with the polling settings.

I adjusted the configuration to ensure the sensor was polled at regular intervals, and now I’m thrilled to see accurate temperature, motion, and light data being displayed in real-time. This setup has greatly enhanced my home automation experience, and I’m excited to explore more advanced configurations in the future.

If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m happy to share what I’ve learned!
