Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with the Z-Wave network after a recent power outage in my area. The cold weather led to rolling blackouts, and while my hub stayed powered thanks to a UPS, I noticed some of my Z-Wave devices weren’t responding properly afterward. Some showed as offline, and others took a minute or two to react to commands. It was a bit frustrating, but I managed to get everything back up and running after a bit of troubleshooting.
First, I tried rebooting the hub, which didn’t seem to help immediately. I then checked the status of each device through the hub’s interface and noticed that some had migrated, while others hadn’t. I decided to perform a network heal, which I’ve heard is a common solution for connectivity issues. After running the heal, most devices started responding again, though a few still had hiccups.
I also took the opportunity to test my backup setup. Since I’m not always at home, having a reliable system that can handle power outages is crucial. I’m glad the hub didn’t lose power, but I might look into adding more redundancy in the future just to be safe.
If anyone else has had similar issues, I’d love to hear how you resolved them. It’s always helpful to learn from others’ experiences!
