Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience with a Z-Wave network repair issue I recently encountered. It might be helpful for others facing similar challenges.
One of my Z-Wave GE switches stopped responding, and after the usual troubleshooting steps, I decided to replace it with itself. Surprisingly, the replacement worked perfectly, and the switch is now functioning again. However, I noticed that the Z-Wave address for the device had changed from “1A” to “33.” Everything seems to be working fine now, but I encountered an issue when trying to run a Z-Wave network repair.
The repair process kept throwing errors referencing the old device address, “1A.” The errors were:
Network repair for device [1A]: Failed to update route
Network repair for device [1A]: Failed to update mesh info
I’m wondering if there’s a way to clean up the old device reference or if there’s a specific process to handle such address changes. I’ve tried resetting the network and re-adding the device, but the old address still shows up in the repair logs.
If anyone has encountered this before or knows how to resolve it, I’d greatly appreciate your insights! In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting with different repair methods and monitor the device’s behavior.
Thanks for your help, and happy automating!
