Hi everyone, I’m relatively new to Home Assistant and I’ve come across an unusual issue that I’d like to discuss. I’ve set up a Z-Wave network using a Raspberry Pi 3B with HassOS 3.13 and a Gen 5 Z-Stick. So far, everything has been working smoothly—I’ve added several nodes, including multisensors, a wall switch, and a CO sensor, all using the “Add Node Secure” method. They’ve been identified correctly and are functioning as expected.
However, I’ve noticed a strange behavior when customizing the entities. I wanted to streamline my setup by disabling unused entities like “Alarm Level” or “Battery Level” since my sensors are USB-powered. After making these changes under the “Integrations->Z-Wave” menu, the affected nodes disappeared from the Z-Wave network management “Nodes” dropdown list. This means I can no longer access their statuses or parameters, which is quite inconvenient. The only solution I found was to re-enable the disabled entities and reboot the Raspberry Pi, but even that was a time-consuming process.
I’m wondering if this is an expected behavior or if I’m missing something. It seems odd that customizing entities would impact the visibility of nodes in the network management interface. I’d appreciate any insights or advice on how to resolve this issue while maintaining the ability to customize my entities. Thanks in advance for your help!
