Zen32 Smart Bulb and Ceiling Fan Troubleshooting

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to share my recent experience with the Zen32 smart bulb and my ceiling fan setup. I’ve been using the Zen32 in smart bulb mode, wired to a ceiling fan, and controlling it via Bond. Everything was working smoothly until yesterday when the ceiling fan suddenly stopped responding. The Zen32 was still powered, and I could see button presses in Hubitat’s logs, but the fan wouldn’t react. I tried resetting the Zen32 by pulling the air gap, but I couldn’t find one on the device. I even considered tripping the breaker, but I wanted to troubleshoot further before replacing the Zen32 with my spare.

After some research, I discovered that the Zen32 might have entered a state where it wasn’t passing power to the fan. I decided to test the fan’s wiring separately to rule out any issues with the fan itself. I also checked the Bond app to ensure the connection was stable. Thankfully, after a few resets and testing, the Zen32 started working again, and the fan responded as expected.

This experience taught me the importance of thorough troubleshooting and the value of community support. If anyone else is facing similar issues, I’d recommend checking the device’s logs, ensuring all connections are secure, and trying a hard reset if possible. It’s also a good idea to keep spare devices on hand for quick replacements if needed.

I hope this helps someone else who might be experiencing similar problems. Happy smart home tinkering everyone! :rocket:
