Hello everyone! I came across a really helpful script for manually installing Zigbee and Z-Wave bindings in openHAB, and I wanted to share my experience and ask for some advice. I’ve been trying to set up these bindings manually, but it’s been a bit of a challenge. The script seems to streamline the process, but I’m not entirely sure how to proceed with some parts of it.
The script is designed to help with installing, upgrading, and uninstalling these bindings, which is great because I’ve had issues with cached bundles before. It also mentions installing the openhab-transport-serial feature, which I think I need for my setup. However, I’m a bit confused about how to automate the upgrade process after updating openHAB. Does the script handle that automatically, or do I need to run it manually each time?
Another thing I’m curious about is how to download the latest development versions of the bindings. The readme mentions using Chris’s test jars, but I’m not entirely sure where to find them or how to integrate them into the script. Any guidance on this would be appreciated!
I’ve also heard that after updating the Z-Wave binding, it’s important to delete and rediscover all Things to pick up any updated definitions. I’m wondering if the script includes this functionality or if I need to handle it separately. It would be fantastic if the script could automate this process as well.
