Hey everyone, I’ve been having some trouble with my Zigbee devices lately, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone else. I’ve been using OSMC Vero with a CC2531 zigbee coordinator, and everything was working perfectly until I upgraded to version 2.5 M4. Suddenly, my Tradfri bulbs stopped responding, and I was getting these packet parsing errors in the logs. It was really frustrating because the devices would pair flawlessly, but commands just wouldn’t go through.
I tried everything from rebooting to resetting the controller, but nothing worked. I even reverted back to M3, which fixed the issue temporarily, but when I accidentally upgraded to M5, the problem came back worse than ever. I increased the logging level to get more details, and here’s what I found when I tried to change the brightness of one bulb: log.txt (28.2 KB).
After some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that the issue might be related to changes in the M4 update. It seems like the packet parsing logic was altered, causing compatibility issues with certain devices. While I’m still waiting for an official fix, I’ve managed to keep my system running by sticking to M3 for now.
If anyone else is experiencing similar issues, here are a few tips that might help:
- Check the release notes for any changes that could affect your devices.
- Revert to a previous stable version if possible.
- Increase logging levels to get more detailed error messages.
- Don’t hesitate to reach out to the community for support.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m hopeful that a solution will be found soon. In the meantime, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this helps someone else avoid the same headaches. Happy troubleshooting! ![]()
