Exploring the world of Zigbee bulbs has been an exciting journey, especially when it comes to customizing their behavior. I recently delved into setting up my Zigbee bulbs to power on at the lowest brightness and then instantly brighten to 100%. While this works seamlessly with my Xiaomi Aqara Light Switches and Alexa, ceiling lights have proven to be a bit more challenging.
For ceiling lights, I’ve found that using virtual switches in Hubitat to trigger dim-on and dim-off rules works wonders when controlled via Alexa. However, when manually turning on the wall switch, the lights default to full brightness. This inconsistency has led me to explore brand-specific solutions, such as the INNR Gen 2 bulbs, which remember their last brightness setting.
I’m curious if others have found a universal solution for this across different Zigbee bulbs or if it’s a limitation tied to specific brands and firmware versions. It would be fantastic if all Zigbee bulbs could consistently power on at the lowest brightness, creating a smooth and seamless experience.
If anyone has tips or tricks for achieving this, I’d love to hear them! Let’s continue to innovate and share our findings to make our smart homes even smarter. ![]()
