I recently decided to dive into the world of Zigbee devices to enhance my home automation setup. After some research, I chose the SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus ZBDongle-P for its compatibility and reviews. Setting it up on my NUC under Proxmox was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to get it recognized in Home Assistant as /dev/ttyUSB0. However, when I tried starting the Zigbee2MQTT add-on, I encountered an error: ‘error: z2m: Error: Failed to connect to the adapter (Error: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000ms)’. This was quite frustrating, especially since I also have the RaspberryMatic add-on running. I decided to look for solutions online and found that sometimes adjusting the dongle’s settings or ensuring it’s properly connected can resolve such issues. After a few attempts and some tweaks, I managed to get it working! It’s been a great addition to my setup, allowing me to control various Zigbee devices seamlessly. If anyone else is facing similar issues, I’d recommend checking the dongle’s connection, reviewing the adapter settings in Home Assistant, and ensuring no other conflicting add-ons are running. Happy automating everyone! ![]()
