Zigbee Mesh Issues After Adding Hue Bridge

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating a Hue bridge into my Zigbee network. I’ve been using Zigbee devices for years, and everything was working smoothly until I decided to add a Hue bridge and some new color bulbs. While the setup seemed straightforward, I started encountering some unexpected issues with my Zigbee mesh network.

Initially, I thought the problem might be related to interference from the Hue bridge. I checked the channels and adjusted both the Hue bridge and my Zigbee hub to avoid overlap, but the issues persisted. The mesh network started experiencing connectivity problems, especially with battery-powered devices like my motion sensors and door sensors. They would occasionally drop off the network, and re-pairing them was a hassle.

After some research, I realized that the issue might be related to how the Zigbee network was handling the new devices. I tried resetting the affected devices and re-pairing them, but they still wouldn’t connect properly unless I placed them close to the hub. This led me to suspect that the network’s routing table might be the culprit.

I decided to dig deeper and looked into the Zigbee logging and route information. I noticed that some devices were routing through themselves or other devices in a way that seemed inefficient. This made me think that the network might need some optimization or that there could be a problem with the parent-child relationships in the mesh.

To address this, I started experimenting with different configurations. I tried resetting the Zigbee network entirely and re-adding all devices one by one. This seemed to help initially, but the problems eventually resurfaced. I also explored the idea of using a Zigbee extender to strengthen the network, but I haven’t had a chance to test it yet.

If anyone has encountered similar issues or has tips on how to optimize a Zigbee mesh network after adding new devices, I’d love to hear your experiences! Maybe there’s a setting or a configuration tweak that I’m missing. Your insights could really help me get this network back to working smoothly.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your suggestions!
