I recently undertook a project to migrate my Zigbee devices from a TI ZNP coordinator to an EZSP coordinator, aiming to enhance compatibility and functionality within my smart home setup. However, the transition wasn’t without its hurdles. Many of my devices stopped responding, particularly the lights and switches, despite appearing online in my Home Assistant interface. The frustration was palpable, especially since I couldn’t manually reconfigure all the ceiling lights due to their inaccessible location.
After several attempts to troubleshoot, including reverting back to the original ZNP coordinator and exploring backups, I discovered a workaround for one of the lights by reconfiguring it. This gave me hope that other devices could be salvaged without the need for a complete reset. I’m now on a mission to find a more efficient solution, perhaps through firmware updates or configuration tweaks, to restore full functionality across all my devices.
This experience has underscored the importance of thorough research and backup strategies before undertaking such migrations. It’s also highlighted the resilience of the Zigbee protocol, as most devices remain connected even when control fails.
