ZigBee Multi-Gang Switch Setup and Tips

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Zemismart ZigBee Wall Switch Multi-Gang driver. After reading through some older posts and doing a bit of research, I decided to give this driver a try for my smart home setup. Here’s what I found and some tips for anyone looking to set this up!

First off, I was really impressed by the range of features this driver offers. It allows individual on/off control for all gangs, which is a huge plus, especially for my setup where I have multiple lights that I want to control separately. I also love the ‘toggle’ command, which makes creating automations much easier. I’ve been using it to toggle my kitchen lights with a single voice command, and it’s been working flawlessly.

One thing I want to highlight is the importance of pairing the device correctly. I read in the original post that for some Tuya devices, you need to pair them again after installing the driver. I almost skipped this step, but I’m glad I didn’t! After pairing again, the device became much more responsive, and the connection is rock solid now.

Another feature I’ve been experimenting with is the ping() command. It’s a great way to check the Zigbee connectivity speed and reliability. I’ve been using it to troubleshoot any occasional hiccups in my network, and it’s been super helpful.

I also found the configuration options really useful. I set my switches to preserve the last state when powered on, which matches my routine perfectly. The LED mode and switch backlight options are nice touches too, especially for devices in areas where visibility is important.

For anyone looking to try this out, I’d recommend using the HPM (Hubitat Package Manager) to install the latest stable version. It makes the process much smoother. Just make sure to update to the latest development version if you run into any issues, as the code can be imported directly from GitHub.

Overall, I’m really happy with how this setup has worked out. It’s added a lot of flexibility to my smart home, and I’m excited to see how it continues to improve with future updates. If you’re considering this driver, I’d say give it a shot—you won’t be disappointed!

Cheers,
