I’ve been experiencing some delays with my Zigbee network, particularly with my IKEA lights and switches. It’s been working fine for a while, but lately, when I press a switch, it takes a few seconds for the bulb to respond. It’s a bit frustrating, especially when I’m trying to create a seamless smart home experience. I’ve tried researching potential causes and possible fixes, but it’s a bit overwhelming to know where to start.
One thing I’ve considered is whether my Raspberry Pi 3 is handling the load properly. I know it’s a decent device, but with all the smart home devices connected, maybe it’s getting a bit overworked. Upgrading to something more powerful could be an option, but I’m not sure if that’s the root cause. Another possibility is the interface from my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, which might be causing some interference. I’ve heard that moving to MQTT could help, but I’m not entirely sure how to transition from ZHA to MQTT.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve faced similar issues. What steps did you take to diagnose and fix the problem? Are there specific logs I should be looking at in Home Assistant to get more insight? Any advice on troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring some new smart home devices and am really excited about the potential for even more integration in the future. It’s amazing how technology continues to evolve and make our homes smarter and more connected. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings!
Thanks to everyone for their insights and tips!
