Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation recently, and I wanted to share my experiences with the Zigbee network setup. I recently moved into a new house and decided to give my old Zigbee hub another shot after some past frustrations. Previously, I used it for a DIY smart garage door opener, but it eventually stopped working, leaving me a bit discouraged.
I started by trying to factory reset the hub, but encountered some issues along the way. When I attempted a soft reset, it threw an “Unknown Error” message. A full reset via the ?fullui command didn’t go smoothly either—it powered down, the LED turned red, and upon rebooting, it hadn’t reset properly. On top of that, I noticed a notification stating, “Zigbee network is not online. It’s unable to find factory reset Zigbee devices.” This was quite perplexing, but I wasn’t ready to give up just yet!
After some research and reaching out to the community, I found some helpful tips. It turns out that sometimes a full reset requires more than just the usual steps. I ended up using a combination of methods, including manually resetting the device and ensuring it was completely offline during the process. Once I managed to reset it properly, the network came back online, and I was able to re-add my devices without any issues!
This experience taught me the importance of patience and thorough troubleshooting when dealing with smart home setups. It also highlighted the value of community support—without the insights shared by others, I might still be stuck!
If anyone else is facing similar issues, don’t hesitate to ask for help. There’s a wealth of knowledge out there, and we’re all here to learn and grow together. Happy automating! ![]()
