I recently faced an interesting challenge in my bathroom where the fan and light share the same switch. This setup made controlling the fan independently quite tricky, especially since the fan needed to run for a specific duration after the shower. After some research, I found a great solution using a Zigbee smart plug and a few sensors, which I’d love to share with the community. The key issue was finding a compact smart plug that could fit into the existing setup. I stumbled upon the Leviton Decora Smart Plug-in Dimmer, which proved to be the perfect fit. Pairing it with a water sensor and a motion detector allowed me to automate the fan control based on my needs. For instance, the fan now turns on automatically when it detects moisture and runs for a set duration, ensuring the bathroom stays dry without me having to manually adjust it.This setup has been a game-changer for me, and I’m excited to see how others might adapt this solution to their own homes. If anyone has similar challenges or improvements to suggest, I’d love to hear about them!
