Zigbee Stability and Coordinator Upgrade Experience

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with improving Zigbee stability in my smart home setup. I’ve been struggling with intermittent connectivity issues, especially with battery-powered devices like my door sensors and motion detectors. The network would occasionally drop devices, and it was frustrating to lose functionality without any clear pattern.

I tried several troubleshooting steps, including resetting the network, changing Zigbee channels, and even adding a few more range extenders. While these helped a bit, the core issue persisted. Then, I stumbled upon a suggestion to upgrade my Zigbee coordinator hardware. I was using an older CC2652R-based USB stick, and it seemed like the newer CC2652RB model might offer better performance.

I decided to give it a shot and purchased a CC2652RB-based coordinator. After a clean setup and reflashing the firmware, the difference was night and day! My Zigbee network is now rock solid, and even the most sensitive devices are consistently connected. The coordinator upgrade wasn’t just a minor tweak—it was a game-changer for my setup.

I’d love to hear if others have had similar experiences or if there are other hardware upgrades worth considering. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other optimize our smart home networks!
