Hello everyone, I’ve been having some trouble with my Zigbee setup, specifically with my IKEA Tradfri devices. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has experienced similar issues or might have some advice on how to resolve them.
So, here’s the situation: I’ve got a mix of Zigbee devices, mostly from IKEA Tradfri, and they’ve been pretty unstable. I’m seeing a lot of timeouts, devices frequently rejoining the network, and grouping issues that only work about 50% of the time. It’s frustrating because I know the potential of Zigbee, but right now, it’s far from smooth.
I decided to try switching my Tradfri devices over to a Hue bridge, hoping that might stabilize things. I followed the process of connecting them through the Hue app and then adding them to Homey. Unfortunately, the instability persists, and even the Hue app itself seems to have some trouble now and then. My few Hue bulbs, on the other hand, are working perfectly stable through the Hue bridge and Homey. That makes me think the issue might be more specific to the Tradfri devices themselves.
I’m running Home Assistant on version 4.2, which I know is a bit older. I’m wondering if upgrading to a newer version might help, but I’m hesitant to do so without knowing if it’ll resolve these specific issues.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? Have others had success with Tradfri devices, or are they as problematic as I’m finding? I’m open to trying different configurations or troubleshooting steps, but I could use some guidance.
Thanks in advance for any help or insights you can provide!
