ZWave Switches and Camera Mounts: My Experience and Suggestions

Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up a smart home system in my DIY home theater. I’ve been using VeraLite and have found it to be a great hub for my automation needs. One of my first projects was replacing two 3-way switches with ZWave-controlled dimmers. I chose the GE 3-wire kit initially, and while it worked, I later upgraded to Leviton dimmers for more reliable performance. The setup allowed me to create a scene that dims the overhead lighting, powers on my Yamaha receiver, and even starts my projector—all with a single button press. It’s been a game-changer for my movie nights!

However, I’ve encountered a minor issue with my WyzeCam setup. The camera is positioned on my second-floor window, but its 20-degree tilt doesn’t provide enough coverage of the ground below. I’ve been thinking about creating an adjustable tilt mount to improve the view. It would be fantastic if Wyze offered such an accessory, as it could solve many users’ similar issues. If anyone has experience with DIY mounts, I’d love to hear your tips!

Overall, integrating smart devices has transformed my home, and I’m excited to continue exploring new ways to enhance it. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your thoughts!
