Hey everyone! I wanted to share a fun DIY project I recently completed in my living room. It’s been on my mind for a while, and I finally got around to it. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or any tips you might have for similar projects!
So, the idea was to install some wall sconces around the base of my ceiling fan. I’ve always loved the idea of having a nice ambient lighting setup, and I thought these sconces would add a nice touch to the room. Plus, they could serve as a subtle accent to highlight the fan’s design.
I started by unboxing the sconces—these were the H6088 models. They looked perfect, but I knew I’d need to modify the mounting brackets slightly to hide the wires. I didn’t want any messy wires visible, so I decided to run them up into the attic. I also added an outlet up there for the power supply, which made things much cleaner. The only wires that are visible now are for the controller, which is in the living room.
The installation process was a bit tricky, especially getting the brackets just right. I had to make sure they were level and spaced evenly around the fan. I also had to drill some holes in the ceiling to run the wires, which was a bit nerve-wracking, but it all worked out in the end.
Once everything was set up, I turned on the lights and was thrilled with the results. The sconces create a beautiful hexagonal shadow pattern on the ceiling, which adds a nice visual touch. I also love how the lights reflect off the fan blades, giving the room a warm and inviting feel.
One thing I’m curious about is whether anyone has tried a similar setup with a different type of ceiling fan. I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences or any tips they might have for making the most out of a setup like this. Have you ever installed lighting around a ceiling fan? If so, what did you do and how did it turn out?
I’m really happy with how this project turned out, and I’m already brainstorming other ways to enhance the lighting in my home. It’s amazing how a little DIY project can make such a big difference in the atmosphere of a room!
Thanks for reading, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or ideas for similar projects. Let’s keep the creativity flowing! ![]()
