Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on with my Govee RGB lights. I’ve been trying to create a dynamic lighting setup for my home theater, and it’s been a great learning experience! ![]()

First, I wanted to automate the lights based on the genre of music I’m listening to. I’ve set up a system where the lights change color based on whether I’m listening to rock, jazz, or something more mellow. It’s been a blast experimenting with different color combinations! ![]()
I also decided to integrate my Govee lights with my smart speaker. Now, whenever I say, “Hey Google, it’s movie night!” the lights automatically dim and switch to a cozy blue hue. It’s such a nice touch and really sets the mood! ![]()
One thing I struggled with at first was finding the right icons for my custom apps. I came across a helpful icon set online, but I wasn’t sure how to convert the names into usable URLs. Luckily, someone in the community shared a tip on how to do this, and it worked like a charm! ![]()
If anyone is looking to do something similar, I’d recommend starting small and gradually adding more features. It’s also been great to see how others have customized their setups—so much inspiration out there! ![]()
I hope this little update inspires someone to try something new with their smart lights. Let me know if you have any questions or if you’ve tried something cool with your setup! ![]()
