A Night of Smart Home Fun and Challenges

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a fun and slightly frustrating night I had with my smart home setup. First, let me talk about a success story. I recently got a Wyze Plug, and setting it up was a bit of a puzzle. I spent hours trying to get it connected to my Google WiFi network. The issue was that my phone was on the 5GHz band, and the Wyze Plug needed a 2.4GHz connection to complete the setup. After some research, I found that I had to force my phone to switch bands by moving away from my WiFi router. It was a bit of a hassle, but persistence paid off! I’m now enjoying the convenience of controlling my devices from anywhere.

On a lighter note, I almost missed my favorite show last night. It was streaming on my smart TV, but I got caught up in tweaking my smart lighting setup. I have these RGB lightstrips that are amazing, but I wish they came with more glue for repositioning. Anyway, I managed to catch the show thanks to my smart speaker’s timer. It’s amazing how these devices make life easier, even when I’m a bit absent-minded.

I also wanted to mention the cool feature in my smart thermostat where I can track compressor cycles. It’s been really helpful in optimizing my heating system. I’m curious if others have similar setups or tips for improving efficiency.

Lastly, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for this community. Every time I run into a problem, like the Wyze Plug setup, someone has already shared a solution or a workaround. It’s inspiring to see how much we can achieve with a little creativity and the right tools. Keep the ideas flowing! :rocket:
