I recently set up a smart lighting system in my home, and it’s been a game-changer! The idea was to create a seamless transition from sleep to wakefulness using Rako Lighting scenes. I wanted the lights to turn on when I enter the bathroom in the morning and stay on for exactly 3 minutes before turning off automatically.
Here’s how I did it: I used a motion sensor in the bathroom as the trigger. When the sensor detects movement, it activates a scene that turns on ‘Scene 3’ on my Rako lights. To add the delay, I had to figure out how to incorporate a 3-minute timer into the automation. After some research and trial and error, I managed to combine the activation and deactivation commands using a simple script. It took a bit of tweaking, but it works perfectly now!
This setup has made my mornings so much more relaxing. I no longer have to fumble for the light switch in the dark, and the lights turn off automatically, saving energy. If anyone has tips on optimizing this further or suggestions for other smart home integrations, I’d love to hear them! ![]()
