A standard use case, but performs well!

Multi-State-Sensor-P100

Advantages
I have a few old Aqara door sensors, both with and without matter. So I tried replace one of them. And it works well. The major advantage is that you can hide the sensor on the back of the door, where it’s not really possibly to have a magnetic thing due to the door frame. It works well after testing it a week. Maybe apple home is slightly slower respond times, but the lamp goes on and off as before I think. And it’s a bit amazing it can be so sensitive so it doesn’t need a magnetic extra part. Definitely much simpler and better.

Disadvantages
As many other have mention, I also had som pairing issues. Took 2-3 tries before it worked. I added it as a matter accessory in first apple home then Aqara home app. And works fine after that. But these pairing issues should be eliminated once and for all.

Color - it should really be white! Usually doors, frames, walls, etc are white. It blends in much more then. That why I like it, it can be out of sight most of the time. It’s ugly if you see all kinds of sensors and things in a home.

And it’s a pity vibration is not supported when it’s in matter mode.

Overall
A great small device, that makes it possible to hide door sensors much better.

Simple, but effective! The “door” use-case extrapolates beyond basic doors to safes, medicine cabinets, mailboxes, etc…

I think they will include a white version at launch.

I’m using mine on a Window with a standard use case as well and it performs pretty well

Thanks for sharing! The P100 will be available in white when it launches, and in Matter mode it can currently only function as a door/window sensor.
