I’m a big fan of the FP300 Presence Multi-Sensor. I tested it at my home and it worked perfectly. I changed its placement to a different location with a different setup, and now it stays stuck on “presence” when running in Zigbee mode with Z2M. Any advice to fix this issue?
Welcome to the forum!
Did you reset it after changing the placement? If not, you should do this and also re-do the AI spatial learning. It can take some time to learn the new placement.
I pressed the button ten times and performed “AI spatial learning” each time this issue happened, but it still doesn’t return to a clear status. The issue remains.
Did you find a solution? I am seeing the same issue of getting stuck on presence until a restart.
Also using Z2MQTT.
Happens in what ever room test it in.
Spatial learning has not helped so far.
I’m using Aqara app (Zigbee mode) and had this issue two times in last couple of days. But for now the more irritating thing is the AI learning that works only temporarily
Most irritating is when the sensor insists on “presence” because I cooked in a wok (with a little smoke), I get on the chair to push the button to invoke the AI learning, it learns to ignore the heat/smoke from my wok for a few days, and then if I don’t use the wok for a day or two - it forgets and reports “presence” for hours… and I have to get on the chair to use AI learning again.
Or when I surprise the FP300 with my oven and it needs manual AI learning again. So the button needs to be pressed every two-three days.
My ceiling fans were causing problems with the FP300 as well.
if they are on, the device detects presence in the room and gets stuck on Presence.
I think I finally figured it out, at least it’s working for me.
Here’s what I did.
1: Make sure you adjust the Detection Range to fit the room. I needed to shorten the distance in one room to not activate when someone walked down the hallway.
2: IMPORTANT STEP - Run the AI Spatial Learning with the fan on and nothing else moving in the room!
After this, the fans seem to be ignored and presence detection works correctly!
DISCLAIMER: I’m not an expert or anything like it. This process works excellent for the 6 ceiling fans I have in my home. I am sharing this in the hopes it helps others, please don’t tear it apart or anything else. Just offering the way that I fixed my issues.
