Adding a matter device to HomeAssistant, that's added to M3 first

Hi all,
Pulling my hair out this afternoon trying to add a Kajplats bulb to HA, that I have initially connected to my M3 via Matter. I already have several Kajplats bulbs already connected to HA in this way and they are working.

Process I’m using…
Bulb is added to the M3 via Matter and working.
Trying to add the bulb in HA by adding Matter Device that’s already in use and entering the code from Aqara app, Matter Pairing Code.
Says will take 1-2 mins but hangs there.

Any ideas? As mentioned, I already have other Kajplats bulbs and Matter smart plugs added and being used in this way.

Thanks

Were the bulbs paired multiple times before? Each time a Matter device is paired, it saves the keys to the paired ecosystem.

If you remove device, then your ecosystem forgets the device, but the smart device may still keep the keys. So if you hit the memory limit, it won’t pair again.

Try resetting one of the bulbs (it should clear the bulbs’s memory), then adding it to M3 and then to HA, see if it helps.

And I think pairing with multiple ecosystems works best if they are in the same WiFi network

Thanks, tried doing resets and finally (still not sure what I did differently) it just paired.

Being reading on-line a lot of people are having issues with multi connections with the Ikea Matter devices, so maybe just related to that.

Will see what happens when future firmware gets released.
