Adding a Wireless Doorbell Button to a Wired System

Hi everyone, I’m looking to add a simple wireless doorbell button at my garage. The reason is that after the recent snowstorm, I found it really tough to shovel my way to the front door. Since the garage is always cleared, it would be great to have a button there for convenience.

We currently have a wired system with two doors, each with a different tone on a striker-type chime. It’s nothing fancy, but it does have a nice ring to it. The challenge is that running wires from the garage to the main house would be quite tedious. I’d prefer not to go through the enclosed breezeway if possible.

I’ve considered a few options. One idea is to use a conventional dumb doorbell switch and wire it to an Ecolink contact sensor, which could then trigger a Zooz ZEN17 at the doorbell chime. However, this setup might look a bit clunky. Another thought is to use a wireless doorbell system that I’ve seen at Home Depot, but I’m not sure how well it would integrate with our existing setup.

I’d love to hear if anyone has experience with wireless doorbell solutions, especially ones that can work with a 24VAC system. Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
