Any recommendations on how I begin the process of learning Home Assistant? Also if anyone has connected CoWork or any other methods to have an LLM help manage the settings so it isn’t quite as daunting? Or am I overblowing it and its easier in 2026?

It’s much easier in 2026, but still requires some technical know-how. Installation and set up should be straightforward, but you may need some help building automations. An LLM can be good for this. I wouldn’t give it the keys to control your home though.
Home Assistant has significantly improved in 2026 and has never been easier to use.
The simplest way to dive in is to purchase a Home Assistant Green device. Plug it in, turn it on, create a username/password and you are up and running in less than 10 minutes.
You can install Claude, it’s pretty amazing how well it works. Use caution and make sure you give it guidelines or you may find it thinks it knows better than you and will reshape your smart home over night while you sleep. MCP Server setup wizard
I would not tackle A.I. till you get familiar with how HA works and you get comfortable with everything.

Edit: I forgot! Use A.I to assist you with installing AI on Home Assistant. It’s comical how easy it makes the process.
