Yes, I do – although not in a completely straightforward way. I imported the Aqara air quality sensors (Aqara 空气监测面板 S1- Aqara 全屋智能) directly from China and installed them in bedrooms and bathrooms. These sensors measure temperature, humidity, fine dust – and most importantly, CO₂.
CO₂ is crucial for sleep quality: once the level goes above 1000 ppm, your sleep suffers. In those rooms, I’ve installed decentralized ventilation units (SIKUSphere). The air quality sensors send Matter signals to Home Assistant, which then controls the fans – deciding whether to pull air out or bring fresh air in, and adjusting the power level.
This way, I keep the air quality high and ensure a restful night’s sleep.
I only wish, Aqara would build in the CO₂ sensor to every thermostat and potentially other devices as well.

Thank you for sharing. It’s a very good application scenario. We also appreciate your suggestions. We will evaluate these suggestions in the subsequent product development!
This is a very good idea! Although we haven’t directly adapted these third-party brand air purifiers, it would be a good approach to try to interact with them through the infrared remote control function of the smart socket or gateway.
more and more devices are becoming Matter-compatible, and of course the IR-remote option is also there. But the real prerequisite is always a sensor that tells me about the air quality.
As far as I know, the S1 Air Quality Sensor is currently the only Aqara device with a built-in CO2 sensor – and unfortunately, it’s not officially available in Europe.
That’s why I’d be really excited if Aqara would either bring an air quality sensor with CO2 support to the European market, or even better: integrate this function directly into the 220V thermostats. Air Quality Sensors require an internal fan, and since these thermostats are mains-powered, there’s no battery drain issue.
Thanks a lot for considering this idea!
