Announcement: Temperature Control Experience Optimization and Upgrade for Aqara Thermostat W600 Users
Dear Aqara Users,
Thank you for your continuous attention and feedback on the Aqara Thermostat W600 Thermostat. In response to the concentrated feedback on the temperature control algorithm experience issues, our algorithm and R&D team have completed in-depth optimization and verification. The new firmware is being steadily promoted for launch, and we hereby synchronize the progress and update content as follows:
I. Progress of New Version Development and Verification
At present, the newly optimized firmware has completed all laboratory tests, and all performance indicators have met the expected standards, making it ready for official release:
Matter Version: 1.0.1.1
Zigbee Version: 0.0.0_2745
Expected Launch Time: The new version of the firmware will be officially released on March 13th
II. Core Optimization Content of New Firmware
This update focuses on temperature control accuracy and usage stability, focusing on solving the following issues:
Narrow the temperature fluctuation range for more precise temperature control;
Optimize the speed of temperature reaching a steady state for more efficient response;
Solve the temperature fluctuation problem after small-range temperature control for more stable operation;
Fix the abnormal temperature display issue of associated sensors for more accurate data.
We will strictly complete the testing and acceptance according to the schedule to ensure a more stable and comfortable intelligent temperature control experience for you. Thank you again for your understanding and patience. Subsequent launch notifications will be synchronized as soon as possible.
Ho @XT-XianTang,
Thanks you for the news.I Will wait the new firmware with Hope. I Hope we Will get It before spring so we can test it before the next Winter.
One question.
What Will be the fluctuation range after the upgrade?
Also why not male It customizable?
How are the experiences? Nothing has improved for me. The thermostats are still not working.
Room temperature 18°, Set at 20° and it doesnât get hot.
Iâm still annoyed
Me too, temperature graph isnât show any changing, and the card header says âDevice or card nameâ. Iâll try a hard reset, maybe that will fix it.
Mine were heating yesterday in the cases where they were usually not. I did tweak the setting for compensation a bit at the beginning, so itâs not 0. Unfortunately I donât have external thermometers in other rooms except one, so I cannot tell if the thermostat room temperature displays the correct value.
Also, open window detection did not turn on yesterday, the radiator was heating with the open window.
I must admit this is the first Aqara product I regret buying and replacing all my old Tados with. They worked as expected out of the box, including heating and open window detection (e.g. I opened window for airing the room, within 1 to 2 minutes this was detected).
I have noticed this, of course I was talking about detecting open windows without an external sensor. I think 3 degrees is an unrealistic setting. I suggest making the detection user-customizable: how many degrees in what ammount of time, also it makes sense to turn off the heating and switch to manual mode. No use turning back on if the window is still open.
After a few days of testing, I can say there is a slight change. It is hard to evaluate the valve, and moreover itâs difficult to test it properly now because itâs spring. Looking at the temperature graph, there were several days when it seemed to work as intended, and on other days the temperature spikes were smaller. It appears that when the temperature is close to the setpoint the valve works OK, but if the temperature drops about 2 °C below the setpoint at night, it does not start to open until a few hours later and then opens fully to reach the setpoint, causing a large overshoot. It seems there is some hysteresis, and any hysteresis disrupts PID control. I do not understand this design choice. Is it possible for me to tune the PID parameters myself?
