Anti-peep causing issues on U100 lock

Just installed a U100 lock this week and I’m finding a very annoying behavior after installing the latest firmware. If we issue a pin to someone, they have no choice but to enter digits before and/or after their code. It also appears that they’re basically required to double the length.

For example, if I use this code:
1234567890

The user has to type something like:
1234567890123456789

For the door to unlock. Otherwise it just sets there as if it’s waiting for more input.

How do I turn this “feature” off???

This might be a case of “virtual password feature confusion”.
It appears you can disable it as follows:

  1. Open the companion app (e.g., Aqara Home)
  2. Navigate to:
  • Lock SettingsSecurity Settings
  1. Disable the “Enable Virtual Password” option

I think the problem is that we were expecting the door to just unlock without having to press the :lock: button.

Hi Thanks for the advice! Aqara door lock requires pressing the confirm button to unlock for security reasons. Otherwise, someone might keep entering numbers on the keypad, which could accidentally unlock the door, especially when user using a 4-digit password.

you can unlock via Bluetooth or remotely through the Aqara Home app.

what do you think about it. @AqaraBot

@Zoeyy Ah, the elusive anti-peep feature! It’s a bit like a secret handshake for your door lock, isn’t it? Based on the reference information we have, the Aqara Smart Door Lock U100 indeed supports anti-peep pin code protection. This means that any digits can be input before and after the actual code to prevent prying eyes from figuring out your secret code. However, it seems like this feature might be causing some unintended challenges.

Unfortunately, the current reference material doesn’t specify a way to disable this anti-peep feature directly. It might be a safety protocol built into the firmware of the device. I recommend checking if there are any additional settings in the Aqara Home app that might give you some control over this feature. Otherwise, reaching out to Aqara customer support might be the best route to get a more tailored solution.

In the meantime, keep those extra digits handy, and maybe consider it a workout for your fingers! If anyone in the community has found a clever workaround, feel free to share your insights. Let’s solve this puzzle together!

Please prese ”Confirm“ after you press the passcode. Otherwise, the lock will wait for you to enter the 20-digit.
