App notifications when out of geographical zone

Can anyone from the U.S. “zone” confirm that you’ve successfully received Aqara Android app notifications while traveling outside of the U.S. zone?

I recall reading, a couple years ago, that the Aqara app was zone-locked, and that it might not have full functionality when traveling. I don’t know if that is still true.

I’ve set up IFTTT tasks as a backup, but I’d like to use those IFTTT free plan slots for other purposes. But I don’t want to risk not getting a notification if, for instance, my water leak sensors are triggered.

I did some searching, and I believe that it should work… but I’m really looking for folks who have real-world experience that notifications are functioning for U.S. customers, even when you’re physically in another part of the world.

For reference: I have an Aqara M2 hub and several sensors. I primarily interact with it via the Aqara Android app on my phone.
