Apple Home Integration

I just want to say, Aqara products are top notch for Apple Home connectivity. I have a doorbell camera, door lock, and 5 cameras which all work seamlessly! Excited to expand my setup!

You will love it more and more as time goes by, I recommend adding a few sensors (Water Leak, Motion, Vibration, Temp/Humidity etc). They also play well with Apple Home.

Aqara’s interoperability with Apple Home via Matter is the biggest reason I’ve gone with Aqara sensors and such. Really can’t wait for the thermostat

Some of their devices need a hub and some other don’t, would any matter hub work?

For Matter devices, yes. But, the new W200 thermostat is also a hub. Can’t wait for it

Initially, my G3 hub wouldn’t connect to HomeKit, but after updating to ios26 and camera updates, in connected flawlessly and has worked flawlessly.

I agree, I was surprised at how well HomeKit secure video worked with my G410 video doorbell. Love the package notifications!

I, too, have a doorbell camera, lock, and 5 cameras around my home. Integrated with HomeKit and on a 1gig fiber internet connection. Only WiFi for now so no POE but everything works great

The only thing that’s not working properly for me is the 1st gen Doorbell. But everything is works like a charm! I wonder if the new doorbell is worth the upgrade ?

Agreed

You need a Matter controller for the specific ecosystem you want to integrate your Matter devices into.

Examples:

  • Apple Home: HomePod (all generations) or Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later).
  • Aqara Home: Aqara Hub M3, Camera Hub G5 Pro, or Video Doorbell G410.
  • Google Home: Nest Hub (2nd Gen), Nest Mini, Nest Audio, or Google TV Streamer.

Important Note: When purchasing, check whether your devices use Matter-over-WiFi or Matter-over-Thread. For Thread-enabled devices, your controller must also function as a Thread Border Router.

Glad to hear. I’m considering Matter-based Aqara locks, camera doorbell, and thermostat for our new home.

I agree. I use my Apple TV as the hub and it has been great.

I am having that problem now. MyAqara locks and other devices seem to be fine. For some reason, the G410 will not connect. I have two other Aqara hubs, and I am on iOS 26.3. It didn’t work with the previous versions either. Does anyone have any ideas on some potential fixes I could try?
