I installed the Aqara S1 Air Quality Monitor and noticed that the PM2.5 reading is not displayed in the Aqara app, even though the value is clearly shown on the device’s screen under the PM2.5 parameter.
Also, it is not clear how to navigate or scroll between the PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 readings on the device. The product information in the app indicates that the monitor supports PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, but I cannot find a clear way to access all three measurements.
Could someone please clarify how these particulate-matter readings are supposed to be accessed and whether PM1/PM2.5/PM10 are currently supported and exposed in the Aqara app?
PS: The PM readings also seem to be significantly inaccurate. I’m not sure whether this is a calibration issue, a limitation of the sensor, or if the device itself is faulty. I have IKEA and Levoit air quality monitors in the same environment, and both consistently report particulate levels within the normal range, while the Aqara S1 is showing considerably higher readings.
Has anyone experienced similar discrepancies, or can confirm whether the S1 requires calibration or has any known accuracy issues?
Unfortunately the fact that this monitor is close to a wall means that the readings may be different than in the middle of the room, because the air circulation is different and the wall may also have dust.
If you have painted or patched the wall recently, then the dust and chemicals will affect the sensors.
As far as I know, you cannot change the PM2.5 to PM10 on the device’s screen. The button on the device can only change the view from CO2 to PM2.5, other readings should be available in the app.
Well the device is an wall mounted device witch supposedly should read well I couldn’t set min on the wall but is on the desk.but his issue is with the PM2.5 that have high readings only the PM10 not.i already spoke with him by message and he already contacted Aqara support but I think that the PM2.5 sensor is broken in his case as mine read both PM particles and his only read one.my be this device could have an issue.
I was thinking the issue might be caused by dust or debris from the wall installation, so I opened the box, vacuumed everything, and left the device outside the wall box, about 20 cm away from the wall.
Unfortunately, it still gives me the maximum reading for PM2.5.
I also added it to HomeKit, and the PM2.5 reading there shows 000, while the Aqara app shows a very high reading.
I took some screenshots from the Aqara app. You can see that the last PM2.5 reading was at 7:31 PM, while the CO2 reading is updating normally and matches the current time, which is 11:57 PM.
I’m not sure what’s happening or whether the PM2.5 sensor is actually working properly.
Well then how do you explain that high readings on PM2.5?that has nothing to do with the hub also this sensor is not an TVOC to measure volatile compounds.also he mention me that have others 2 sensors one from ikea and measure well.
I was talking about the fact the readings don’t update in the app. And yes, they’re high in the app. Both may mean that the hub doesn’t update those values properly (or doesn’t sync correctly those values with the cloud). Or the hub gets the raw data from the sensor, but then (due to a bug), formats the value wrong, which makes the number high.
For example, pairing the smoke sensor with the hub M3 for some reason makes the app display constant 0 or “-“ as current smoke level
Weird thing mine is connected to an E1 hub Chinese version clearly as this sensor is the only device with the E1 that I have on china server but do sync very well.not sure what hub he is using but hey @fmg80s what hub you are using? also did you try to reset the hub?
