Hi all, is anyone having trouble setting alarms on the Aqara app? I set my M3 hub to home and away mode. The automation is started via a mini switch that activates the exit mode with a single click and deactivates it with two clicks, all connected to an Aqara sensor on the door. The problem is that when I want to deactivate the automation it does not work and the alarm does not deactivate. Of course the “Home” and “Away” settings are set with the respective sensors. Then I created scenes with sounds and delays added.
But the problem persists with both scenes and automations.
The scenes do not work, in the sense that if I create it and save it it is fine, but if shortly after I return to the same scene to edit the alarm configuration, I only see the turn off alarm option, and no longer arm, disarm and switch arm/disarm.
@gtxteo It sounds like you’re experiencing a few challenges with your Aqara setup, particularly with the automation and scene configurations not functioning as expected. Based on the reference information, here are a few suggestions and considerations:
Automation and Scene Setup: Ensure that the automation and scenes are set up correctly in the Aqara Home App. For the Aqara Door and Window Sensor, you should be able to configure actions based on its state (open, close, etc.). However, if you find inconsistencies when editing scenes, it might be due to a glitch or a configuration error. Try deleting and recreating the problematic scenes or automations to see if this resolves the issue.
Home and Away Modes: The Home and Away modes are mutually exclusive, meaning only one can be active at a time. Be sure that when you switch modes, the previous mode is fully deactivated before activating the new one. This could be causing the automation to not deactivate the alarm correctly.
Mini Switch Functionality: The Aqara Mini Switch should be able to trigger different actions depending on the number of clicks. Double-check the configuration in the app to ensure that the actions for single and double clicks are set correctly.
Troubleshooting Steps: If the problem persists, consider the following:
Restart the Aqara Hub M3 and ensure it’s running the latest firmware.
Verify that all devices, including the Mini Switch and Sensor, are connected to the same network and functioning properly.
Check the Aqara Home App for any updates or additional settings that might affect the automation process.
If these suggestions don’t resolve the issue, it may be beneficial to reset the devices and configure them again from scratch. Also, engaging with the community here or reaching out to Aqara’s support team could provide further insights and assistance.

Ok, thank you, but do I also have to enable the mini switch in the security panel settings of the app or only in the possible scenes or automations?
Could you give me some examples?
Thanks
@gtxteo To address your question about enabling the mini switch, you generally do not need to enable the mini switch specifically in the security panel settings if it’s already configured within your scenes or automations. The mini switch should be set up within the Aqara Home App under the automation and scene settings to trigger specific actions based on the number of clicks.
Here’s a quick example to help clarify:
Automation Example: You can set up an automation where a single click on the mini switch activates the “Away” mode, and a double-click deactivates it. This is done by creating an automation in the app, selecting the mini switch as the trigger, and setting the respective actions for single and double clicks.
Scene Example: Create a scene where the mini switch, when clicked, activates or deactivates an alert system. In this case, the mini switch serves as a manual trigger for your predefined scenes, such as “Home” or “Away” modes.
If your current configurations aren’t working as expected, consider revisiting the settings to ensure the mini switch is correctly assigned to the desired actions. Should you face further issues, it might be worthwhile to reset the configurations and set them up anew, ensuring all conditions and triggers are properly aligned.

Aqara has recently move Alarm arming and disarming features to alert system.
Under Aqara alarm system > Arming /Disarming > auto Arming /Disarming >
Accessories> + Mini Switch button
Once you configured your mini switch button please delete old existing automation from mini switch. Do a quick test
Thanks me later.
Hi, thanks for your help. I tried what you said, but when I open the door even after disarming it, M3 hub announces the disarming delay with its sound. This is not working for me. I checked the settings in the alarm security panel. In Away mode the door sensor arrived while in Home mode I added mini switch with two taps as other trigger events, but nothing changes. Why? Thanks for any help.
@gtxteo It looks like you’ve shared your automation setup screenshots, which is great for getting more precise feedback! Viewing your current configurations can help identify any potential issues or improvements. However, since I cannot actually view the images, here are a few general tips to consider based on common automation practices:
Review Conditions and Triggers: Double-check the conditions and triggers for each automation. Ensure that the Mini Switch’s single and double clicks are correctly linked to the desired actions, like arming or disarming the alarm.
Check for Conflicts: Ensure there are no conflicting actions or conditions that might be preventing the desired outcome. For example, make sure there are no overlapping conditions that could cause the system to behave unexpectedly.
Log Details: Utilize the automation log in the Aqara Home App to see what actions are being triggered. This can provide insights into whether the automations are executing as expected or if there are any errors.
Firmware and App Updates: Make sure all devices are updated with the latest firmware and that the Aqara Home App is up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve underlying issues.
If these suggestions don’t resolve the issue, feel free to provide more specific details or descriptions of your setup, and the community might be able to provide more targeted advice! Engaging with others who have similar setups can often lead to finding effective solutions.
In practice this happens when by pressing the mini switch button once the away mode is activated, when I open the door connected to the aqara door sensor again and press the mini switch twice to deactivate the alarm this automation does not work as it should. In fact, by opening the door again, the alarm starts with the countdown for the entry delay. I can’t figure out how to fix the problem.
From the screenshot of your automation, after double press the wireless switch, the system will disarm the away mode then arm the home mode, so after double press, your security system is still in arming state. If your door and window sensors are also added to the home mode, then it means that if you open the door will also trigger the alarm in the home mode. So if you want to double-press to disarm the system, then you need to modify your automation to remove arming home mode, if you want the door/window sensors not to trigger alarm in home mode, then you need to remove door/window sensors in home mode in the security configuration.
Thanks for your reply. I changed settings in the security and automation center, but it still doesn’t work. After deactivating the alarm by double clicking, if I later open the door, the alarm starts ringing again.
