Hello everyone! I wanted to share some exciting news about Aqara devices currently on sale on Amazon. They’re offering some great discounts, which is perfect for anyone looking to expand their smart home setup. I’ve been using Aqara Zigbee devices with my SmartThings hub, and they’ve been working wonderfully. The button switch, especially, is a fantastic deal at 40% off. It connects seamlessly through the Aqara hub, which acts as a Matter bridge. While not all features are supported yet, it’s still a fantastic addition to my setup. I highly recommend checking out the deals if you’re in the market for some new devices!
Moving on, I’ve been dealing with a bit of a nuisance with my Philips Hue motion sensors. They’ve been taking up to five seconds to react, which is frustrating, especially with my automations. After some research, I found a solution using Node-RED and MQTT. By setting up a Hue Magic Motion node and configuring it with MQTT, I was able to drastically reduce the response time. This method maps the sensor data directly to MQTT topics, making the sensor as responsive as the Hue app itself. It’s been a lifesaver for my routines!
Lastly, I wanted to share my experience with the Govee Glide Music Wall Lights. They’ve been a hit in my house, and setting them up was a breeze. The packaging was top-notch, and the instructions were clear. The variety of scenes and modes is impressive, and my family loves how they add a touch of elegance to our space. I’ve included some videos to show them off, but trust me, seeing them in person is even better!
I hope this post helps someone out there with their smart home projects. Happy tinkering!
