Aqara Display switch V1 EU - First key press is not executed

Hello, I received my Aqara Display Switch V1 EU, installed it and it works as intended.

The only annoying thing is: If the switch is in standby (time is displayed) and you press a button (which is configured as virtual button / wireless switch) the button press is not executed, the display switch is only “woken up”. This means that you then wonder why nothing is happening and have to press it again. Pretty unsmart, right?

I know that the display switch has a proximity sensor that wakes it up, but I want that the time is shown on the display for as long as possible (which seems to activate the standby mode and ignore the first button press). Is this a known problem and is there a solution for it?

Hi!
:grimacing:This is Cifer from Aqara (feel free to raise anything about switches to me)

Your requirement is duly noted, and we will push “pressing to simultaneously trigger the wireless switch and exit screensaver.”

For the current issue, the only solution is to enable the ‘proximity activation,’ which you’re already familiar with (this is the only option available FOR NOW)

BUT it may take some time to address your request as things on the agenda are dealt with by sequence. Appreciate your understanding and patience!!

Thanks for the response, but to be honest, it’s hard to stay optimistic. I’ve had the V1 EU switch since January, and there hasn’t been a single firmware update or any sign of active support for this product. Saying that a fix is being worked on without showing any progress over several months doesn’t build trust. If Aqara wants to be taken seriously in the EU market, customers need to see real commitment — not just vague promises.
