Hi, I bought a lot of Aqara Display switches V1 EU for all the lights in my apartment and encountered a very annoying feature that was missing from my old H1 switches.
When pressing any wireless button, there’s a delay of 1.8-2.1 seconds before the light turns on.
When turning on a light, the brain expects a quick response, up to a 0.5-second delay. A delay of 2 seconds or more always creates the feeling that something is broken or not working properly.
Other switches don’t have such a long delay.
I tried various approaches, including disabling the double-click override. The only solution that helped reduce the delay from 2 seconds to 1 second was switching the automation to a relay.
So, the circuit looks like this:
- The Display Switch V1 button initiates the switching of the internal relay (switch) of the Display Switch V1 on or off.
- In the Aqara Home app, automation is configured as follows: If the Display Switch V1 relay switch is triggered, all devices responsible for lighting (Single Switch Module T1, Ceiling Light T1M, GU10 lamps, LED Strip Driver, and other devices) should be turned on.
This way, I can use two of the four buttons. This is a hacky solution, and I don’t think it should work for a switch of this level.
I’ve interviewed several users of these switches, and they’re all having the same problem.
GPT Chat suggests that the problem lies in the switch’s logic: it waits for confirmation from the Hub or devices that a successful response has been received. H1 switches, however, don’t do this, so the delay is minimal.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance!
