I am new to the Aqara system and am hoping to double check that I am not missing something obvious about my planned installation. I have just purchased the G4 video doorbell, U300 Lock, and G5 Pro PoE camera hub as well as an Apple TV (with ethernet and thread) to switch from my antiquated gate doorbell and unlock system.
Before I go ahead with ripping out all of the old system I would greatly appreciate some input from people more knowledgeable about this system.
I am attaching a quick drawing of my planned system. The idea is to be able to talk with people at the gate and unlock the gate remotely on an iPhone or iPad.
Having read the forums here I have learned that the chime has to connect to the wifi network directly and the doorbell can only connect to the chime. I had originally planned to the the G5 Pro mainly as a way to connect the U300 and G4 camera doorbell to the rest of the house with ethernet. It now seems like the G4 doorbell or chime would not connect to the G5 Pro with matter and would only connect to a router via a direct wifi connection.
I am wondering if it would be a simpler system (if it would work) to replace the G5 Pro with another wifi router connected via ethernet to the house and replace the G4 with the G410 to be used as a border router with the U300 lock. Any advice or suggestions for a better plan are greatly appreciated.
