Aqara Dual Relay Module T2 to control home fans

What would be the best way to use an Aqara relay to convert my ceiling fan so I can control it through HomeKit

Hello @orrantia
You can connect a fan to an Aqara relay and control its on/off status.

By connecting an Aqara relay module (such as the Dual Relay Module T2) to a ceiling fan, you can get basic remote control of the fan on and off and, if any, also of the integrated lights, via the Aqara app or a compatible voice assistant (HomeKit, Alexa, Google). The module also allows you to maintain the normal manual wall control, adding intelligent remote control via Zigbee hub and smartphone.

The module supports control with clean contacts (dry contact), useful for devices such as fan motors or garage doors, and allows both the on/off function and the pulse control, so it is possible to control electric motors with the release of an on or off pulse.

From a distance, therefore, you can:

• Turn the fan on and off.

• If necessary, also check the light, if integrated and wired separately.

• Integrate control into home automation with timers and scenarios through the Aqara Home app.

• Maintain traditional manual control without compromising it.

However, if the ceiling fan is controlled only by an RF remote control without separate physical switches, the configuration can be more complex and may require additional devices or solutions, because the relay acts as an on/off switch on wired circuits and does not emulate the RF controls of the original remote control

Thank you for so much for the reply.
Is there any way to control the three speeds of the fan other than just on and off?
Maybe some other unit I can use with the Aqara relay?

The Aqara relay mainly allows you to turn devices on and off and is not designed to directly regulate the speed of a ceiling fan. It works as an on/off switch for connected devices, so it can’t handle the three speeds of a fan that would require more modular or variable control

If you want a smart control of different speeds, you should evaluate specific components for fans with support for speed regulation (such as systems with iFan sonoff or devices designed for PWM or multi-speed control)
