Aqara Face Recognition for HomeKit Automations

Does anyone have an idea how to use the Aqara facial recognition (eg. Aqara Camera Hub Doorbell G410) as a trigger for automations in Apple HomeKit?

I think I have a good idea. But I still have to see if that works. I want to use the AqaraApp and the iOS App: Controller for HomeKit. If it works, I’ll write again.

Controller for Homekit is such a good and power full app. More triggers more conditions. Love it

I use them already for Automations like „Arriving Home“ and „Leaving Home“ to control Smart Locks and Security Systems in HomeKit. And for some other reasons, but I like it so much. I can‘t live without.
What are you using?

I use it for conditions in HomeKit as u can set multiple conditions for automations. For example: Turn on heating if ALL windows are closed (4windwos) or: if there is movement and the Lux conditions are under X turn on lights and so on

I got a g410 doorbell and Face recognition doesn’t work properly for adults. It does work for kids if they come close to the doorbell and pause for couple of seconds. Is it a problem with the height of the camera (installed about 1.20 m from ground) or just the picture added when I setup the face recognition ( I used a selfie)?

I would first turn on the face detection for 2-3 days and then name the faces in the Aqara app. Then the camera directly has the appropriate facial data. And in Apple HomeKit you need iCloud+ which is not necessary for this automation. I don’t think it’s bad if it’s not quite that high. Maybe you set the speed for face detection to the smallest duration (if you have a power connection)

Here are my settings for face detection. Please let me know if I should change anything. I will assign faces and I hope it will make a difference

Hello,

have you managed to get facial recognition in Apple home or Controller for Homekit? It sounds interesting.

So far I only have the faces recognized in the Aqara app. I haven’t gotten any further.

I will try and test a few options in the next 30 days. I’ll write again when I have a good solution.

Better name faces that the camera detected later on. Saving a face via a selfie has never worked for me. A selfie is probably just too different from what the cam sees.

Using G410 and also connected to Apple. I can not get any face recognition notifications. Wonder if it works at all. :upside_down_face:

I would like to see Aqara will expose the AI facial recognition as my Apple HomeKit event. Not all my devices are not Aqara compatible devices.

Expose the face recognition with a matter occupancy sensor in HomeKit via aqara matter controller and the trick is done

That’s what I’m trying to do right now. I have already managed to integrate it into HomeKit.

Use Matter Signal Syncs for this>

In the Aqara app go to profile, then

  1. Connect to Ecosystems
  2. Matter
  3. Scene and Signal Sync
  4. Signal Management
  5. Click “+”
  6. Search for your camera, then select signal.
  7. Choose “Specific Face detected.” and then choose the face.

Now you go back and view “signals sync” select your signal and click “add to matter.”

Thanks for explaining, then I don’t have to do it and can enjoy the sun
