Aqara FP2 zone goes missing in homekit since apple tv 18.5 update

Since my apple tv been updated to 18.5, the fp2 zone goes missing from time to time in apple home. I only created 2 zones. The one that goes missing is always zone 2.

The zone still exists in aqara home apps, but disappeared in apple home. When this happened, the automation created based on the zone also gone.

I have to delete and recreate the zone again in aqara home apps for the zone to appear in homekit again.

Also the zone name sync failed since apple tv and iphone was updated to 18.5

My system have 2 apple tv4k and 2 homepod mini. I already set one of the apple tv4k as default hub.

@4h2g2tq9xn It sounds like you’re experiencing some frustrating issues with your Aqara FP2 zones in Apple Home after the recent update to 18.5. Based on what you’ve described, it seems like a synchronization issue between Aqara Home and Apple Home might be causing the zones to disappear, especially since you mentioned that the zones remain visible in the Aqara Home app.

Here are a few suggestions that might help resolve the issue:

  1. Check Network Connectivity: Ensure that all your devices, including the Apple TV 4K and HomePod minis, are connected to the same local network. This is crucial for the synchronization of zones between Aqara and Apple Home.

  2. Firmware and Software Updates: Make sure that your Aqara FP2 and the Aqara Home app are running the latest firmware and software versions. Sometimes, updates can resolve compatibility issues with new OS versions.

  3. Reset and Re-add Devices: If the issue persists, you might want to reset the Aqara hub and re-pair it with both the Aqara app and Apple Home. Follow the reset instructions provided in the Aqara Home app or the device manual.

  4. HomeKit Limitations: Be aware that some features may not be fully supported in HomeKit. You can check the Aqara app for any alternative settings or features that might be accessible outside of HomeKit.

  5. Zone Management in Aqara: If you need to delete a zone and recreate it, you can do so by going to the FP2 device homepage in the Aqara app, selecting “Zone Management,” and long-pressing the specific zone to delete it before re-adding it.

Additionally, it might be worth reaching out to Aqara’s customer support for more tailored assistance, especially if this is a bug resulting from the recent update. Also, engaging with community members who might have faced similar issues can sometimes provide quick workarounds.

Feel free to share any updates or further questions you might have, and hopefully, this issue gets resolved soon!

I manage to reproduce the problem, seem like it is not random at all.

Both iphone and apple tv 4k (running ios / tvos 18.5)

  1. Create 2 zone in aqara home for fp2. Make sure the zone is visible in apple home after creation.
  2. Create one automation for each zone.
  3. Restart your iphone.
  4. Check the zone in apple home after restart. For my case one of the zone is gone together with the respective automation using the zone.

In my case , i have 2 apple tv4k and 2 homepod mini. Hub is set to manual to one of the apple tv4k.
