Aqara FP300 Presence Sensor: Expected Release Date & Features

The Aqara FP300 Presence Sensor is one of the most anticipated smart home devices of 2025, promising advanced millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar + PIR detection for highly accurate human presence sensing. Here’s what we know so far about its release and key features:

Expected Release Date

Aqara has not yet officially confirmed the exact launch date for the FP300, but based on their product roadmap, it is expected to arrive in late 2025 as part of their next-gen smart home lineup.

  • The FP1E, a similar presence sensor, was released in August 2024, suggesting that the FP300 could follow a yearly update cycle.
  • Aqara typically announces new products at CES (January) and launches them later in the year. Since the FP300 wasn’t highlighted at CES 2025, a Q3/Q4 2025 release seems likely.

Key Features (Expected)

  • Multi-technology detection (mmWave + PIR) for static & dynamic presence sensing (unlike traditional motion sensors).
  • Environmental monitoring (light, temperature, humidity).
  • Thread & Matter support for seamless integration with Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings.
  • Improved range & accuracy over the FP1E (possibly up to 8m detection).

Where to Buy?

Once released, the FP300 will likely be available on:

  • Aqara’s official website
  • Amazon & major smart home retailers

It’s a pity that the exhibits were stolen at the exhibition. I hope the product can be launched as soon as possible and meet with us

I hope it will be powered by USB C and not a battery

Fingers crossed it will be released soon. The FP300 seems like a very welcome addition to my current smart home setup.

FP1E would be recommanded in this case : )

As far as I understand, the FP300 is battery powered but it supposedly has a 2-3 year battery life. Seems like a dream sensor to me

Nooooo thats the whole point of the FP300, thats it battery operated. One of the major issues with all other mm radar presence sensors is that you have to run cables and power and in a new house build that looks messy.

Being able to put up a neat presence sensor with no cables is a game changer

There are plenty of other USB C powered presence sensors inc from Aqara

something that i really want to see is instant detection, something FP1 and 2 fail to do.

(i didnt get the FP1E)

This is related to setting the sensitivity. If very timely detection is required, it is recommended to set it to high sensitivity

Just bought the FP1E last week to test out whether a presence sensor would be a good option for my smart apartment setup. Now that I know how well that sensor works, I look forward to upgrading to the FP300 when it launches! Hoping that’s sooner than later!

My Fp1e works great, but I think the FP300 will be even cooler and the big plus is that it can be placed away from the outlet. I’m also really looking forward to the release of the FP300

Agreed! Also love the fact that it’s multi-sensor, which would be helpful for my living room (which is where I currently have my FP1E setup). Once the FP300 launches, it’s gonna be a day 1 buy for sure! I’ll replace my FP1E with it and move the FP1E to another room where the extra sensors aren’t needed (Maybe my bedroom or bathroom… haven’t decided yet :joy:)
