Aqara G100 Camera Reinstallation Assistance

Hello,

I moved my Aqara G100 camera to another part of the house, but the Wi-Fi used in the initial setup does not cover that area.

So I removed the accessory from the app while it was offline.

I now want to reinstall it, but I’m stuck: I can’t reset the camera because I had the option to prevent the reset button from being used.

Can you help me unlock the situation so I can reinstall my camera please?
NB: The camera works in Homekit. But I want to add it to the Aqara app as before.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Re-add to the same network you had (previous working one), remove all settings and reset.
To connect to the network, hold the reset button for 10 seconds, this will give access to the WiFi connection.

Thank you very much. It is a pleasure for me to join this forum. How to do what you ask me to do please, I don’t see the camera in the Aqara application. I put the camera back in the old location and it is connected to the wifi again, but it does not appear in the Aqara app, I can only use it only in HomeKit (limited option).

When I try to reset the camera with the physical button to reinstall it in the Aqara application, I am told that it is impossible to reset and that I have to go through the application or the camera I deleted it from the application when it was offline. So, I think only an Aqara technician can solve this problem. Thank you for helping me please.

Write a letter to the support team. Please note that the response may be slightly delayed due to the New Year celebrations.

Another question, have you tried adding the camera through the APP application, selecting it in “+”. I haven’t done that, maybe that will pull it up? Hold the button for 10 seconds (don’t press 10 times, but hold it constantly).

Thank you for your reply. I wrote to the support team. As you mentioned, probably because of the New Year’s celebration, I have not had any response so far.

I tried all the possible possibilities at my level. When I try to add the device to the application again, the device does not display since it is not in pairing mode. It is currently connected to my wifi network and works in the HomeKit application where it appears.

I want to reset it to put it back in the Aqara application but since I had activated the option to deactivate the physical button to reset directly from the camera, I can no longer use this button. When I press it, I am always told to go through the application but the device is no longer in the application.

After noting this incident. I have disabled this option on all my Aqara devices, I will no longer use this option. Here I am currently blocked.

I’m waiting for the return of the Aqara support service. It seems to me that this is the only solution right now.

Thank you for your help.

If you have other tips, I am available to try.

I re-read your descriptions and I think the reason is that the G100 is tied to HomeKit. Most likely, it blocks the reset to factory settings of the camera.
Theoretically, you deleted the camera from the application, which is not a reason to block its reset to factory settings.

I’m writing this as an assumption because I don’t use Homekit.

I understand and it’s possible. But in fact it was after noticing that I no longer had access to the camera in the Aqara application and that I could not reset either that I decided to set up in HomeKit. At least I could use it while waiting for the Aqara support team to answer me.

Afterword, yes, I looked at the camera from my wife’s homekit on her iPhone, I think this is 100% the reason.

Thank you very much. I think I have no choice but to wait for the answer from Aqara support. Thank you very much for your help. It’s really nice and I really appreciate it. I will keep you informed for the rest. If you have other tips in the meantime, do not hesitate to share them with me so that I can try. I was thinking of completely deleting my Aqara account and creating another account, but I’m afraid of permanently losing the camera.

Definitely no, you see it in the homekit :grinning:

I don’t use homekit. This is actually my first time. I connected to homekit thinking I could go through this to reset the camera. I hope that Aqara support will solve my problem. Thank you very much

Hello . Thank you very much for your assistance yesterday. After some searches last night via Gemini Google, I was able to get information that can be found in the user manual for all Aqara devices; factory reset is done by pressing:

  • 10 times in succession on the camera’s reset button. (Solution that worked on the first try :star_struck:)

NB: pressing and holding the reset button resets the registered Wi-Fi network and removes the device from the app (if the option to prevent the reset button from deleting the device from the app is checked, the camera requires us to go to the app to delete, which I did)
Thank you Gafich10 for the assistance, you are an excellent moderator.

Happy Chinese New Year to the entire Aqara team, your products are really handy.

Thank you all.

Hi, you said you tried everything.
Definitely - holding the button for 10 seconds means reconnecting to a new WiFi network.
Pressing the button 10 times - reset to factory settings.

I didn’t even think that you didn’t do that🤣
